Revision of Counter Working Hours of all Post Offices under Namakkal Division

            In accordance with C.O letter no.TCA/52-39/97 dated 13.06.2006, communicated vide RO, Coimbatore letter no.TCA/40029 dated 04.07.06, the counter working hours of all the Post Offices under this Division is revised with immediate effect as under.

1.    MPCM counter        -           6 hours
2.    SB Counter              -           5 hours
3. The working hour is same for all working days and no separate working hours for Saturdays.

The revised working hours of all the offices is enclosed in the annexure. Necessary corrections should be made in the office Notice of Hours of Business and this should be followed scrupulously without any deviation.

A copy of this memo is issued to:

     1.    All the PMs / SPMs in Namakkal Division for information and necessary action.     
     2.    All the Sub Divisional heads in Namakkal Division for information.
     3.    The Postmaster General, WR, Coimbatore – 641 002 for information.
     4.    The AD (Mails), O/o the PMG, WR, Coimbatore – 641 002 for information w.r.t his DO   lr.No.TCA/40029 dated 21.05.13.

Incentive for excellence in academic achievements in 10th and 12th Classes by the Children of postal employees (including GDS) for the year 2012-13

Sub:     Incentive for excellence in academic achievements in 10th and 12th Classes by the
Children of postal employees (including GDS) for the year 2012-13 – reg.
1.As per the decision of the postal services staff welfare board vide Directorate’s letter No.15016-1/86-WL/Sports dated 30.07.1990, applications for grant of incentive for excellence in academic achievements by the children of the postal employees (including GDS) in 10th and 12th classes for the year 2012-13 are called for.

2.under this scheme 5 awards will be given for the best five children of the staff in each of the following classes/Groups on the basis of their marks secured in 10th and 12th standards board examinations held in March / April 2011 for the year 2012-13 subject to the minimum % of marks shown against each group viz.
X Standard                                             (minimum aggregate marks)

   The applicants who have obtained marks lesser than as above need not send their applications.

3.The quantum of awards for each category will be as follows:
v  1st position in the circle          -           Rs.1000/-
v  2nd position in the circle          -           Rs.800/-
v  3rd position in the circle          -           Rs.700/-
v  4th position in the circle          -           Rs.600/-
v  5th position in the circle          -           Rs.500/-

4.There will be no pay limits or reservations for these awards. The scheme is open only to the children of Postal employees including GDS. Willing officials has to apply in the proforma enclosed along with attested copy of the mark list. Incomplete applications will be rejected and no further correspondence will be made.

5.Applications in respect of staff working at your control should submit the duly filled in application through the Head Postmaster concerned to this office on or before 05.07.2012

6.The application received without attested copy of mark sheet and after the due date will be rejected.

7.It should be brought to the notice of all the official including GDS and officials who are on leave, training, deputation etc., without fail.

National Child Award for exceptional achievement for the year 2013

Sub     :           National Child Award for exceptional achievement for the year 2013- reg

The Ministry of Women and Child Development has instituted an award called “National Child Award for exceptional achievement” to give recognition to children with exceptional abilities, who have outstanding achievements in various fields including academics, art, culture, sports etc.,

The National Child Award for exceptional achievement will be given to one child from each State / UT. There will be one gold medal with cash prize of Rs.20,000/- for one child at the National level and silver medal with cash prize of Rs.10,000/- for one child from each State / UT. Children in the age group of 4-15 years of ages as on 31.07.2013 are eligible for the award.

Criteria for selection

(i).       The child is to be selected for the award should unusual talent and exceptional achievement in any field including academics, arts, culture and sports etc.,

(ii).      Age certificate (Date of birth) duly attested by a Gazetted Govt.offices, two recent passport size photographs (duly attested), press clippings / certificates and other supporting documents as proof of achievements should also be attached.

(iii).     Tributes / traits which are claimed to be possessed by the child extraordinary or exceptional, should be reported in the press, or have been tested by expert in the filed. It should also be possible to subject the claim to an objective test.


This may please be circulated among all officials working under your control and the nominations (in the prescribed application enclosed) received from the eligible officials fulfilling the eligibility criteria as mentioned above may be forwarded to this office on or before 09.05.13 for onward submission to Circle Office.

If no nomination is received before the date mentioned above it will be taken that no nomination from your office.
