As you are aware, 20th August is observed as “Sadbhavana Diwas” every year. This year, since 20th August is falling on Saturday, which is a closed holiday for Central Government Offices, Sadbhavana Diwas may be observed on 19th August, 2011. The objective behind observance of this day is to promote national integration and communal harmony among people of all religions, languages and  regions and to eschew violence and promote goodwill among the people. To promote this idea further, the fortnight beginning from 20th August to 3rd September, 2011 is observed as “Communal Harmony Fortnight” every year.

An important feature of observance of the “Sadbhavana Diwas” is the pledge taking ceremony. Hence all are requested to take pledge on 19.08.2011 at all the operative / administrative office at 1100 hours.
