vacancies of Multi-Tasking staff cadre for the vacancies of the year 2010, as per MTS Recruitment Rules 2010 - Reg.

            This is a notification regarding holding of Limited Departmental Competitive Examination for filling up the posts of Multi-Tasking Staff for the vacancies of the year 2010, as per instructions contained in Directorate’s letters No. 45-2/2011-SPB-I dated 18.10.2012 and A-3401/01/2012-DE dated 19.10.2012. The examination is scheduled to be held on 10.02.2013.
                       
1. Conduct of exam:
                                               
For Multi-Tasking Staff cadre, examination will be conducted as per Department of Posts Multi Tasking Staff Recruitment Rules, 2010, communicated by Directorate vide letter No. 45-2/2011-SPB-I dated 27.01.2011, for the category of

“ 25% of direct recruitment on the basis of Competitive Examination restricted to the Gramin Dak Sevaks of the Division or Unit in Subordinate Offices”.
                                               
2. Vacancies for holding the exam:
            The Examination for filling up the posts of Multi-Tasking Staff will be conducted for the vacancies of the year 2010 and the same will be notified later, separately.
         * Examination will not be conducted for the Division/Units having ‘Nil’ vacancies.

3. Examination Fee:
            There is no examination fee, as there are no orders from Directorate.

4. Photos:
            The applicant should enclose two passport size photos:
·         One photo should be affixed on the application duly attested by the Sub Appointing authorities.
·         One photo should be stapled along with the application form. Name and designation of the GDS should be mentioned in the backside of this photo.

5. Eligibility Criteria:
All Gramin Dak Sevaks who are appointed and applied on or before the last date of receipt of applications by Sub appointing authorities i.e 15.01.2013 and who are upto the age limit of 50 years as on 01.01.2010 are eligible to apply. Applications should only be sent through Sub Appointing Authorities and applications received directly at this office will not be entertained. The age limit is relaxable for those belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes upto five years and for those belonging to Other Backward Classes upto three years. The age concession for OBC/SC/ST candidates is applicable only against respective reserved quota of vacancies.
                                                                                                                                                                       
6. Pattern & Syllabus for the examination:
            In accordance with the instructions contained in Directorate letter No. 45-14(i)/2012-SPB-I dated 31.07.2012, the revised pattern and syllabus for the examination is furnished below:
            I. Candidates shall be subjected to an Aptitude Test of the level of 10th class/ matriculation covering the following subjects/topics:

       Total Marks-100

Part ‘A’-25 marks: 25 questions on General knowledge- Multiple choice questions

Part ‘B’-25 marks: 25 questions of Mathematics- Multiple choice questions

Part ‘C’– (Two segments)

(i) 25 marks – 25 questions - English language- Objective Type/Multiple choice questions
(ii) 25 marks - 25 questions - Regional language - Objective Type/Multiple choice questions
II. DURATION OF EXAMINATION: 90 minutes.

            III. QUALIFYING MARKS:

Parts A and B - Minimum 10 marks for OC, 8 marks for SC/ST and 9 marks for OBC candidates in each part.
Parts C ( Two segments) - Minimum 10 marks for OC, 8 marks for SC/ST and 9 marks for OBC candidates in each segment.
40% marks for OC, 33 marks for SC/ST and 37 marks for OBC candidates in aggregate.

7. Venue of Examination:
            The examination will be held at all Regional Head Quarters i.e. Coimbatore, and if need be in other Centres, with the approval of competent authority.

8. Schedule for the Examination:
            The last date for submission of applications by the candidates to the sub appointing authorities concerned is 15.01.2013. They will scrutinize the applications with reference to eligibility criteria and service records, and forward to Divisional Office with due recommendations or otherwise on 16.01.2013. The application format is also enclosed.

7. Important: The time schedule given above and the eligibility conditions should be adhered to strictly and applications received after the last date should not be entertained.  All applications received should invariably be impressed with the date stamp of the office on the date of their receipt.  Applications without date stamp will be rejected and the candidates will not be allowed to appear for the examination.

8. The notification should, immediately be circulated among all concerned including those who are all on leave and on deputation etc without fail. The SPMs will send a copy of this notification to all their BOs duly invoiced in BO slip for information of BO staff. Any complaint received in connection with non-circulation of this notification will be viewed very seriously and stern action will be taken on the officials found at fault.

They should impress the date stamp of their office in the applications received by them, verify the particulars mentioned therein and forward the applications along with recommendations or otherwise, so as to reach this office on 16.01.2013.  Applications received at your end after the last date i.e. 15.01.2013 should not be entertained and should not be forwarded to this office. Time limit should be strictly adhered to.
