Sale - reg
This is regarding non
feeding of name and address of the addressee while booking through Point of
Sale at Post Offices. During visit of officers from Directorate to various
delivery Post Offices, it has been observed that the delivery manifest of Speed
Post and Registered Post letters generated through the system did not bear the
name and address of the addressee on delivery slips against every article
thereby consuming a substantial amount of time and delaying their departure for
their respective beats.
If the name and address
of the addressee along with correct PIN code is entered at the time of booking
at Point of Sale, the details are electronically transmitted to the delivery
office concerned, when the beat wise delivery manifest is generated, the name
and address of the addressee gets automatically printed on the manifest. This saves
a lot of time at the delivery offices and ensures that Postman leave for their
beats on time.
Hence all are requested
to ensure that at all offices, name and address of the addressee alongwith
correct PIN code are entered in the system at the time of booking of Speed Post
and Registered letters through “Point of Sale” and it may be ensured that
communication modules are being run regularly.
