TENDER NOTICE
Sealed tenders are
invited for undertaking the work of (i) re-painting of all types of letter
boxes, letter box plates, name boards, postal notice boards, sign boards and
(ii) manufacture and supply of new boards for the year 2012-13 to the post offices
in Namakkal Division.
2. Tenders
should be sent by Regd. Post in a sealed cover to Shri.K.Shanmugam, Superintendent
of POs., Namakkal Division, Namakkal – 637002 and the cover should be super scribed
as “TENDER FOR RE-PAINTING OF LETTER BOXES AND NAME BOARDS”.
3. The
last date of receipt of tenders at this office is on 31.05.12. Tenders will be
opened on 31.05.12 at 1700 hours in the presence of tenderers who may wish to
be present.
4. An
earnest money of Rs.100/- (Rupees One Hundred only) should be deposited in any
post office and the cash receipt (ACG-67) obtained thereof should be enclosed
with the tender.

and conditions of the work:
Letter Boxes should be scrapped completely and two
coatings of red paint should be applied thoroughly. The back bottom and lid
portion should be painted with black paint.
The
following words should be re-lettered on the letters boxes in suitable size to
commensurate with the size of the letter boxes.
(a)
Name
of the office with Pin code in yellow colour at the top of C3, C4 letter boxes
and above the mouth on round and pillar letter boxes.
(b)
Letter
(in capital) on mouth piece of the letter boxes.
(c)
Next
clearance on the two sides of the space for hour plates on the round pillar
letter boxes.
(d)
Last
clearance (with time) at the bottom face of the letter box.
5. Red colour paint will be supplied by the Department. The
overall body of the letter boxes should be painted with post office red paint.
The corporate name will be painted in white while the wings of the corporate
symbol will be painted in post office yellow. The identification mark of the
post office will be painted on the top of the letter box. Green letter box
meant for local letters as well as letter boxes of any other colour should also
have the corporate symbol.
6. The identification mark of the post office would be painted
at the back of the standing letter boxes and of the bottom of hanging letter
boxes. The pincode number in the LB, the words “Letters” in the mouth of the
letter box, the words “Next Clearance”, “No clearance on Sundays and National
Holidays” and “Last Clearance” should be written in white paint at the
prescribed places in letter boxes. Painting of LB plates with superior
synthetic enamel paint (black) and writing of hours of clearance in superior
white paint. Scrapping down the old paint with emery paper, painting of coats
should be done with post office red paint. (This should be done one after the
other). Painting of sorting cases and writing of letters should be done with
black and white paint respectively.
7. The tenderers should note that other paints should have to
be borne by themself. The tenderer should quote separately for the following:-
(a)
If the red paint
is supplied by the Department.
(b)
If all the paints
are borne by the tenderer.
8. The painter should go to each Sub Post Offices or Head Post
Offices in this Division where the Letter Boxes are available for repainting,
at his own cost and the repainting work should be done in the following Sub
Divisions to the satisfactory of the Departmental Officials:-

10. All Post Office Sign Boards, Notice Boards, No Admission
Boards, SB, Parcel and MO, Departmental Sign Boards should be repainted
trilingually in Tamil, Hindi and English.
The tender to be approved will remain in force up to
31.03.2013.
